Aktobe city sights

The city of Aktobe was founded on May 28, 1869, is located in the northwestern part of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the left bank of the Ilek – the left tributary of the Ural in the central part of the Podural plateau, which is a plain with a height of 250 – 400 meters. The city in the north-west borders with Martuk district of Aktobe region, in the north-east – with Kargala district, in the east – with Khromtau district, in the south and south-west – with Alga district. The city was founded on the site of Aktobe fortress (White Hill).
